Seattle Post-Intelligencer - Republicans in the House: Deport undocumented young people

Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., voted to end the deferred action program.

“We are particularly disappointed in Washington Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Dan Newhouse and Jaime Herrera Beutler, who have talked about their support for meaningful immigration reform, but in this instance voted across the board with a nativist minority within their party to deport students, tear apart families and dash the dreams of aspiring Americans,” said Rich Stolz, executive director of OneAmerica, a business-labor group that has lobbied for immigration reform.

“While these amendments are unlikely to become law when the Senate takes up this measure, these votes say much about what these politicians think of the immigrants in their communities,” Stolz added.
